On Sunday, we drove up to San Clemente to escape the heat and enjoy the air conditioning while shopping at the Outlets. After buying some new clothes, we headed into downtown and had dinner at Avila's El Ranchito. We were able to get an outdoor table right before they started getting busy. There was a long wait for tables by the time we left at 7:30pm. Their Mexican food was really good. I had the Tampiquena steak with a Cheese Enchilada while Tori ordered the Chicken Mayan Burrito.
After dinner, we went for a long walk out to the end of the San Clemente Pier. There was a coastal fog along the water that felt nice and cool after the intense heat during the day. I was able to get some great photos of the wooden pier at night with my iPhone 11 Max Pro. It is amazing how well the Night Mode works at capturing the surroundings in low light.

I just posted in your blog post re: Ft. Dix. Very cool to know another alumni who lives in So. Orange County! I live in Ladera Ranch, and we're down in San Clemente every so often!
ReplyDeleteCool, I love San Clemente but I live south of Camp Pendleton in Encinitas! :) I remember in Basic Training & AIT that there were so few of us Californians.
