Dear Aunt Melody,
Thanks for your letter, it really improves my day when I get letters. I just got back from a 4-day bivouac out in the woods. There is so much sand out there, it gets everywhere, my clothes, sleeping bag, boots, and in my rifle. The worst part was no showers. We spent each day on the range, firing our weapons and we had to clean our weapon every night.
There's a lot of guys here my age, some of the guys are still 17 years old. My Ranger Buddy is 23. His name is Roger. He's a nice guy.
What worries me here, is that if war breaks out in Saudi Arabia and they need more men I might have to go. I doubt it but there is still a chance. My MOS is 44B, which is welding, and they don't have a big need for that over there. Roger's MOS is one of the critically need ones so he probably be going. Enough of worrying, how are you doing? I am buying pictures, I'll make sure to send you one.
About the goodies, you can send some just not too much or too often. We are allowed only ten minutes to eat what we get.
Well, I have to go now. Please write again.
Love,
Noah
